I had some fun repainting this A-frame sign for a bike shop in Santa Monica, as the owner felt he needed something a bit more artsy:
I got the gig out of simply seeing another artist friend in Facebook posting about a sign-painting gig for anyone who can do it, since he was too busy. The bike shop asked him originally to do it, but as I mentioned he had too many other work obligations in the way.
Anyway, long story short, with the help of Photoshop I laid out the mock up, printed it out and traced stencils to mask out the paint layers. I had limited colors to use and the result was this:
In the end, it worked out pretty well and the bike shop owner seemed to be happy with this. Would’nt mind doing more of this kind of work.
